Drones are the only weapon with any damage type flexibility since there are drones that do 100% damage of each of the 4 damage types that you can mix, match, swap, etc. Turrets do different damage types depending on what type they are (laser, rail gun, etc), but there is no way to swap damage types so lasers are always the set damage split. If you have a high slot, you can fit whatever weapon to it. There are some large combat/fit differences though. The ships are copy/pasted from EO in most ways (including references to and bonuses for modules not in the game yet like command burst modules). You can shield tank or armor tank and certain ships are better at each. Drones act like drones (but rats don't attack them currently, so they are kind of explotable). They say just a hull, but the one time I used it, I got back all the destroyed fits too.Īs far as gameplay, you have the same core Eve gameplay for the most part, but not all features or modules are currently in. Once a week you can get a pve lost hull returned to you (pvp losses are not returned unless exploits or other severe issues occurred). Teaming up and Corps will always give you more profit than playing solo. I'm not saying that i'm gonna play solo style 100% of the time, it's just depends on the time that i have, usually at the weekends i got more time (obviously) but while the whole week i prefer to play solo since i need pretty often to go afk.īecause of that IMHO there should be a solo-friendly content for such players which wouldnt changed anything for teamplaying/big groups/corps etc. Null sec is actually quite chilled out in the right areas. Basically you need one that has a stronghold in null-sec. You need a corp now, whether it's a team base corp or a more relaxed one. Low sec is all about low sec hunting now, high sec is the same. You can do a few encounters but all popular encounter spots and especially systems having the missions in get constantly scanned and to do a mission you need to defend against multiple PvP threats also, so they have pretty much made missions redundant. However encounters and missions which used to be safe for a solo person to kite and fight is no longer possible at all really. Not much has change for solo miners, still risky but you get found even quicker now. They have also introduced bubbles (depends how long you've been away) where they can pull ships out of warp. To counter the scanning, you can have an alt with a low ship signature radius that detects when it's being scanned, but also make sure your ship has some warp core stability rigs, and maybe an aura warp core stab mod also. These now enable a player to scan a system and detect everything, from PI crates, stations, and all ships, their types and what their doing, mining or ratting or encounters. The main change that happened was the introduction to scanning modules. Solo as in non corp solo is almost impossible now.
